Lincolnshire F&RS report a successful activation of a Personal Protection System (PPS) which occurred on Tuesday 19th August 2014.
The system had been installed by Lincolnshire F&RS to protect a vulnerable person living in a sheltered housing scheme in the city which offers supported living for older people.
The fire occurred in a waste bin located in the persons’ bedroom, which if allowed to develop, could have had serious implications for the occupier.
This was the second such activation at this address and no fire-fighting action was required by attending crews.
