On 23rd June 2014 South Yorkshire FRS reports that a fire occurred in the reception area at the Old Mill Lane site of Barnsley College. An electrical short circuit caused the fire which then actuated one sprinkler head in the immediate area. Fire Crews attending reported that the fire was out on arrival. There was no disruption to the student’s work programmes for the day due to the fire. More information is awaited.
